Hello! Welcome to the blog. I think some bad first impressions would make for a fitting first post, so here's a few things that have put me off recently ;)
Usernames; not usually very important to me, and something I usually intend to avoid posting here, but there is just no way I'll even bother reading an email when it comes from a FullSackasaurus...
Say you get past the initial username hurdle, perhaps you want to send a friendly, complementary email to someone who says they're looking for a committed relationship, not just sex....
